The final determination of the reserved portion is based on the scope of the estate and the formal appraisal result as of the decedent's date of death. The "shortfall" assumes the higher-receiving party (e.g. the heir taking the concentrated asset) makes up the deficit in cash to any heir who falls below the reserved portion; the actual method of making up the difference and the allocation of responsibility should follow the terms of the will and the agreement among the heirs.
Planned integration: The 3-Second Home Value platform does not yet offer a public API, so valuations are entered manually. Once the platform opens an API, the "value" fields can be populated automatically with no change to this dashboard's calculation logic—this version is already the scaffold prepared for that integration.
